01 / The renewal window
Every successful qualification is valid for one year from its latest issue date. Renewal becomes available 30 days before expiry. You may continue using an active credential throughout its validity period. An early renewal sets a new one-year period from the date you pass.
Open My credentials to review the expiry date. Renewals lists records approaching or past expiry and links to their programs. No automatic renewal occurs: a new passing result is required.
02 / Prepare for the current examination
Read the current curriculum, especially case decisions and documentation standards. All eight modules must be recorded as complete. If new modules were added after your previous pass, complete those before attempting the current exam.
Check prerequisite dates before starting. An advanced license may depend on an active foundational license. Renew the earlier qualification first when needed, then return to the dependent examination.
03 / After expiry or a failed renewal
An expired credential remains publicly searchable and is shown as expired. It does not become active just because a renewal is underway. Passing the current exam restores an active period and preserves the existing credential number.
If a renewal attempt fails, review the relevant modules and wait ten minutes before another submission. A failed attempt does not shorten an otherwise active credential’s remaining validity.
04 / Suspended and revoked records
Suspended or revoked records cannot be restored through an automatic exam retake. They require review by the issuing program’s staff. The website does not currently provide an online appeal or staff-review request form.
When verifying any credential, use the current registry result. A saved image or printed certificate can be out of date; the public record reflects expiry and recorded status at the time of lookup.
